Developed by Maria Montessori, for the children, and for the last 30 years adapted by Cameron Camp for the frail elderly, this pedagogical approach is based on the observation of the natural development of the person and aims to foster a sense of responsibility and awareness, rather than imposing standardized educational paths. The fundamental principles of the method include freedom of choice within a prepared environment, learning through hands-on experience and collaborative play, and the role of the educator as a facilitator rather than as a support.
